And in a dream I'm trying to forget...
Anyone wondering just what I've been up to these last few weeks need look no further. I wasn't sure if would make the deadline at the time; but now I'm happy to annouce that I will be part of a group show starting tomorrow. And since 98% of you will be unable to attend (owing to geographical differences well outside our collective control), I figured I'd give a little mini-show right here. Including the painting shown previously, I'll have five pieces on display. Are they any good? Will any of them sell? Who knows?! Onward!

Accompanyment
The Maestro
Overhead
Underhill

Obviously, my scanner decided to have a little fun with the colors, but you get the idea.

Lots and lots of secret projects to keep me busy for the rest of the year. And all of them comics related, which is even better. I expect a few of you know what I'm talking about. Back to work!

The man in the tree might very possibly be the most wonderful thing I've ever seen. I wish i could attend this show and purchase it with all of the money that I don't actually have!

I'm wondering if some scientist somewhere genetically engineered you as the perfect man for illustrating covers for The New Yorker.

I wish I could afford to just give it to you. I keep meaning to write you about buying some of your minis, but it sounds like we're in the same financial boat at the moment.

If I'm to be doing covers for The New Yorker (and trust me, that would be a dream come true), it would have to be for an issue that has some of your gag strips on the inside. I think that scientist bred you for single panel work for the same publication.

I'm glad to see that it all went through. I'll be in Baltimore with Ian tomorrow, so I'm afraid I will be unable to attend myself. Good luck!

wonderful work!
those trains have a certain children's book timelessness to them...
these are all great...best of luck on those secret projects:)

Why thank you! Timelessness is one of those things that you always want as an outcome, but should never try to shoot for in and of itself; so it's nice to hear I'm doing something right.

I'd wish you luck on your own covert works, but I don't think you need it.

man sir, if someone doesn't buy one of the last two paintings, can i buy one? they're both incredibly lovely and i really want one.

I don't know as they'll sell (I priced them a bit high in comparison to the work I was showing with), so you're welcome to make me an offer. Hell, even though I need the money, I'd be willing to trade for it as well. You're one of those people I really want some original work from. And I'll beg, borrow, and steal (well, maybe just buy or trade) to get it.

Thanks Julianna! I couldn't help thinking of your recent work (which is beautiful, by the way) while I was painting it. So consider it an homage, of sorts.

It would be kind of cumbersome, wouldn't it? I'm glad you like it though.

Sorry I haven't e-mailed you this week. Busy busy busy. You'll hear from me soon, though. If it's not too late.

not a problem!. as i didn't realize til just after this post that you were/are occupied. i've so far got good footing on four separate plates, and by the end of this weekend maybe two more.. so do not feel obliged if there are priorities. though at some point even beyond this project i'd still like to include :)

may you sell all your pieces. whoever gives the pawskirt girl a home is lucky.

You know we have to keep up the rivalry, it's a good motivator. Now if only MICA would listen to Dan Krall's proposal for the class: "Our Stuff is Better than Yours."

Those are great, all of them. Maybe you can post a follow up and tell us the ones that sold. I'm sure that Shelley and I would like to buy one.

HE SPEAKS!!! Did my e-mail all those many months ago not get to you? Did I disobey one of the rules of the game? Or should I have sent a follow up?

It's good to hear from you guys! One of us needs to remember how to use a phone, and sadly I think that maybe its me.

Hmmm, no no no, I don't like the font for this post. The paintings are wonderful. What's the price on coat made of bird wings and that painting?

For the gallery, I priced all of them at $150 each, to recoup my expenses and account for the fee they would take out for their services.

The coat itself though has been in my family for generations and I simply won't part with it.

And thanks.
